Unifor Council 4000 membership ratifies all CN Agreements

We are pleased to announce that all five of newly negotiated Unifor National Council 4000 Collective Agreements with CN have been ratified by our membership following ratification voting held across Canada from March 5 to 12, 2015. The results of each agreement is as follows:
Collective Agreement 5.1 & 5.1 Supplemental (Intermodal): Ratified by 80%
Collective Agreement 5.4: Ratified by 100%
CN Savage Alberta Railway: Ratified by 100%
CN Transportation Ltd.: Ratified by 81%
Collective Agreement 5.4: Ratified by 100%
CN Savage Alberta Railway: Ratified by 100%
CN Transportation Ltd.: Ratified by 81%
Agreement 5.1, which includes the Intermodal Supplemental Agreement, covers 1,800 Unifor Council 4000 members who work in a diverse number of classifications and CN departments, including clerical, locomotive hostlers, mechanical operations, stores, fleet and heavy duty mechanics and CN Intermodal operations, to name a few.
Agreement 5.4 governs Unifor Council 4000 members who are employed as excavator operators with CN and whom work all across Alberta and British Columbia.
The CN Savage Alberta Railway Agreement covers our 68 members who are based in Grande Cache and Grande Prairie, Alberta who work as Locomotive Engineers, Conductors and Assistant Conductors on subdivisions situated in Northwestern Alberta.
And the CNTL Agreement covers almost 900 members who are Owner Operator truck drivers with CNTL, a subsidiary of CN and one of Canada's largest full-load trucking companies.
The wage increases negotiated in Agreements 5.1, 5.1 Supplemental, 5.4 and CN Savage Alberta Railway are retroactive to January 1, 2015. The negotiated rate increases in the CNTL Agreement become effective the April 1, 2015 pay period.
We wish to thank all our membership who participated in the ratification process and for their overwhelming support to these new agreements. We also wish to thank the many who assisted us in ratifying five collective agreements across Canada over the short span of 10 days.
