Heather Grant Re-Elected as Secretary Treasurer of Unifor National Council 4000

Ballots were tabulated today for the election of Secretary Treasurer of Unifor National Council 4000. By a margin of 58.8%, Heather Grant was re-elected to the position defeating her challenger, Council 4000 Regional Representative for Local 4002, Dave Kissack. Brother Kissack retains his position as Regional Representative. We thank him for his continued commitment to Council 4000 and our Regional Local Unions.
Heather Grant has been the Secretary Treasurer of Council 4000 since she was first elected to the position in 2007. Prior to that, she served as the Regional Representative for Local 4005 servicing members in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick employed at VIA Rail Canada, DHL, World Trade and Convention Centre Halifax, Nova Scotia Federation of Labour support staff, Scanwood Canada and Rivenwood Furniture between 2003 and 2007. Between 2003 and 2006, she serviced the VIA Rail membership in Quebec.
Sister Grant has served on the National Executive Board (NEB) of CAW-Canada, and holds a seat on the present NEB of Unifor as representative for the Union's Transportation sector.
We wish Heather well in her future endeavours as Secretary Treasurer of National Council 4000 during her new three year term which runs until the end of 2016.

Sister Grant and Brother Kissack were nominated for the Secretary Treasurer position during nominations held during the Council 4000 Convention held in Edmonton on October 20, 2013. At that time, Barry Kennedy was nominated and subsequently acclaimed and re-elected as the President of Unifor National Council 4000.
