Unifor leadership at VIA Rail unanimously support tentative agreement

Yesterday in Gatineau, Quebec, the Unifor VIA Rail Master Bargaining Committees met with the top leadership from across the country and provided them with full details of the tentative agreement. The mood of the leadership was very positive and at the completion of the presentation, over 45 top workplace leadership elected by their members, unanimously endorsed the tentative agreement.
Highlight brochures are being finalized now and will be sent to your local representative in the coming days.
The committees for Agreement 1, 2 and 3 will now go out for ratification by their members.
For members represented by Agreements 1 or 2, we will commence ratification on June 20th through to June 30th across the country.
For Agreement 3 Shopcraft members, ratification will begin June 22nd and will be completed by July 8th.
Specific details of locations and times will be provided to the membership shortly.
Once again we encourage the full participation and support of our members at the ratification meetings.
In closing, the master bargaining committee wants to once again, thank our members and leadership for the solid support.
