Heather Grant admirably led Council 4000's negotiations with VIA Rail three occasions during difficult round of negotiations with the Crown Corporation. Her time as a Regional Representative she served on the VIA Rail Bargaining Committees as well as bargaining committees for negotiations with DHL, World Trade and Convention Centre Halifax, Nova Scotia Federation of Labour support staff, Scanwood Canada and Rivenwood Furniture.
Sister Grant has also served on the National Executive Board (NEB) of CAW-Canada and Unifor, representing the Union's Transportation sector.
We wish Heather well in her retirement and in her future endeavours. She plans on running a small farmers market with her partner Rob, as well as getting involved in community charity work.
On behalf of our Executive and staff, thank you Heather for your dedication, leadership and work that you put into our Union over these years. Enjoy your retirement!
Heather Grant will be succeeded by Danny Andru, who won the election of Secretary Treasurer following a second ballot run-off election. Danny has been the Regional Representative for Unifor Council 4000's Great Lakes Region for more than 15 years. Most recently, he has been servicing the VIA Rail Agreement 1 and 2 membership in Ontario, and the VIA Rail Agreement 2 membership in Quebec.
